Theology from a Three Year Old

Conversation in the car today that cracked me up:

"Mommy, God's really everywhere"
"I know isn't that cool?"
"Yeah, and it makes Him sad when you are ugly to your friends - like when you push Elizabeth."
"That does make Him sad."
"Yeah, but He loves us anyway!"

How could you not love that?!

Three months and a funny

Lorelai turned 3 months old on the 12th. It still amazes me that there was a time when she wasn't part of our family. Her sweet and laid back personality has just made going from a family of 3 to a family of 4 seemless. She is the happiest baby and just fills me with joy all the time.
Likes at 3 Months:
She LOVES to smile and does it all the time
She started smiling at Maelie - she thinks her sister is pretty funny
She is getting better and better at holding her head up and prefers to be sitting up on your knee rather than laying back.
She loves her lovey! I'm so excited about this because I think it's so cute.
She has decided that she loves bathtime. She either looks at me or the cute little baby in the mirror and smiles the whole time.
She is still a fan of sleep - yea!
They got these new awesome swings in the church nursery that are so soft and she loves them! We kid that "hers" has her hiney print in it because she loves to take her Summer Spectacular naps in it.
Dislikes at 3 Months:
not a fan of the carseat, but usually settles down once we start walking her in it
that's about it - I'm telling you she is one precious, happy baby!
Funny stories about Maelie:
One of her favorite Bible stories is when the friends lower the paralyzed man down to Jesus. Somehow the way it's worded in her Bible has led her to believe that that is the man's name - Paralyzed. Last night I asked her which Bible story she wanted to read and she said "The one where Paralyzed gets sick." I don't know why but it cracks me up!!!
She got to go watch Aunt Kasey dance in the Summer Spectacular preview show and was really pretty good and seemed pretty interested. In fact, she was on the edge of the pew watching intently during the finale. So she was pretty shocked when the confetti cannons went off - so shocked she fell out of the pew. A better mom would probably have been concerned, but this one laughed until she almost cried. She did scale me in about .2 seconds after she fell, so I did hold her and pat her back while I laughed :)

Funny Girls

The other night at CFA, Lorelai was fussing so Maelie put her pretend baby bottle in her mouth. She must have been hungry because she started to suck on it. Yeah, go ahead and cast those mother-of-the-year votes now...

These are Maelie at her first big girl movie trip. I took her on a Mommy-date to see "Up." That night before she went to bed she said she hoped she dreamed about that movie. I was so touched that she liked the movie (I loved it) until she said "yeah, especially that part where we drinked the Coke!"

Silly Lorelai! She loves to grab things (her dress, her lovie, the towel) and pull them to her mouth to gum on and then she just smiles. She is the happiest baby ever!
